Children should never go hungry - yet 2.7 million children in the UK did just that last year.
Behind every number is a child arriving at school without breakfast, a parent skipping meals so their children can eat, and families forced to choose between heating and food.
Mothers Manifesto is calling for urgent, joined-up action to end child hunger and protect food security for all families, both here and globally.
We’re asking you to take one simple but powerful step:
👉 Write to your MP and ask them to support the Mothers Manifesto’s work and attend the Parliamentary Launch of the Pink Paper — a powerful report on food insecurity and the bold, systemic solutions needed for lasting change.

Subject: Please Support the Mothers Manifesto and Help End Child Hunger
Dear [MP’s Name],
As one of your constituents, I’m writing to express my deep concern about the continuing crisis of child hunger - both here in the UK and across the world. Last year, 2.7 million children in the UK went hungry - an unacceptable figure in one of the world’s richest nations. Globally, millions more face chronic food insecurity and malnutrition as conflict, climate change, and economic pressures drive families further into crisis.
I’m a supporter of Mothers Manifesto, a national movement of parents, carers, and citizens calling for urgent, joined-up action to end child hunger and ensure food security for all families - both here and globally.
I urge you to attend the Parliamentary Launch of the Pink Paper on Tuesday 4 November, 8:30–10:00am at The Thames Pavilion, and to support its recommendations for lasting change.
The Pink Paper presents a clear and evidence-based roadmap for ending child hunger. The report sets out practical, evidence-based policy recommendations to tackle child hunger both here in the UK and globally, and to strengthen food security by addressing the interconnected challenges that drive it. Its calls to action are wide in scope, recognising that solving these crises requires joined-up thinking across sectors - from tackling social inequality and the cost of living crisis to confronting environmental degradation and the escalating climate emergency. You can read more in the Executive Summary here.
This issue is not only about poverty - it’s about justice, dignity, and the kind of society we want to be. No child should ever go to bed hungry.
Please show your support by attending the launch and by backing cross-party measures to make the UK a nation where every child is well-fed, healthy, and secure. After the meeting, you can also take photos with our professional photographer to show your support - complete with a giant plate, spoon, and fork!
Thank you for your attention and commitment to this urgent issue. Please let us know if you are able to attend. We look forward to seeing you.
With thanks and hope,
